Date set for consultation on planned switch to two tier education in Bury St Edmunds

Have your say

The date has been set for a public consultation on the proposed move to two tier education in Bury St Edmunds.

Parents will be able to have their say on Suffolk County Council’s plan to close middle schools from October 7 to December 13.

The authority’s cabinet will then consider the responses in February and, if the move is agreed, statutory notices would be published.

The cabinet would then determine the notices in April.

If agreed, the new schooling system would be expected to be in place in September 2016. Council bosses are currently seeking expressions of interest for providers to run a new secondary school in Moreton Hall.
