A GOOD Samaritan who helped recover a stolen cycle is being sought by the police.
The bike owner wants to recompense the person for the loss of their cycle lock.
The Viking mountain bike was stolen from Mount Road in Bury St Edmunds on August 10 but was found padlocked to a road sign on East Close, off Eastgate Street, on Sunday.
A resident said the person who found the bike in nearby bushes chained it to a signpost and attached a note with a phone number the owner could call to unlock it.
The bike was spotted by the owner’s husband but the note had gone so they had to cut the chain.
The Samaritan should call Sgt Davy Hill on 101, quoting crime number BU/12/2341.
