A woman has been ordered to pay back almost £11,000 in benefits she falsely claimed over more than two years.

Julie Coultas, 37, of Mouse Lane, Rougham, was charged with failing to notify a change in circumstances between March 29, 2010 and October 10, 2012 affecting her right to housing benefit and council tax benefit.

At Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court last Thursday she was ordered to repay £9,514.77 housing benefit at £15.65 and week and £1,425.50 council tax benefit at £30 a month, a total of £10.940.27.

She was also given a six month community order with a supervision requirement and ordered to pay full costs of £392.
