A woman is contesting the amount she is said to have stolen from EMG Motor Group while working there.
Karen Foster, 51, of Andrews Walk, Bury St Edmunds admitted four charges of false accounting and four of theft when she appeared at court seven weeks ago.
The theft is said to have involved £1million taken over a six year period.
On Friday Ipswich Crown Court heardfrom Richard Potts on behalf of Foster that she believed the figure was nearer £500,000 as she believed that some figures had been accounted for more than once,
A further hearing will be held to determine the financial extent of her offending and the accounts examined before she is sentenced.
Judge Rupert Overbury told Foster she would be granted bail on condition that she lives at her address, surrenders her passport, reports daily to police and does not apply for any travel documents outside Suffolk.
Foster, who has no previous convictions, is expected to be sentenced in the New Year.
She was warned she was facing a prison sentence when she last appeared.
