SPECIAL constables from Suffolk and Norfolk worked more than 5,700 hours during police efforts to control widespread rioting in August.
The officers contributed 5,769 hours and played a key role in maintaining community stability and calming public disorder.
Special constables from Suffolk contributed 2,683 hours with those from Norfolk giving 3,086 hours.
Across the region more than 2,200 special constables gave up 19,000 hours to help other forces in London and elsewhere. Seventy arrests were made in the East during the unrest by the special constables, who are volunteers.
