A DRIVER pulled over for not wearing a seat belt was found to be more than twice the drink-drive limit.

Steven Lesley Henderson was breathalysed at around 6.35am on November 16 and recorded 92 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.

The 58-year-old, from Beck Row, pleaded guilty to driving with excess at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

In mitigation, Paul Booty said Henderson had developed a drinking problem after his partner died two years ago.

He was banned from driving for two years, to be reduced by six months on completion of a driver rehabilitation course, given a 12-month community order with supervision and a 60-day alcohol treatment requirement and costs of £85.
