A man has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to give a breath specimen in connection with a serious accident in Kings Road, Bury St Edmunds.
The incident on January 8 injured two people who were walking along the road that afternoon when they were involved in a collision with a Smart car at around 3.30pm.
Anton Giles, 23, from Queens Road, Bury has been charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road traffic collision and common assault relating to a member of the public at the crash scene.
He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Bury Magistrates Court on Thursday 17 March.
The two pedestrians, a couple in their 60s who live in the town, were taken to Addenbrooke ‘s Hospitalin Cambridge where they were treated. Police say they are now recovering at home.
