AN INMATE at Highpoint Prison, in Stradishall, has been cleared of indecently touching a female member of staff.
Adepoju Adegoke, 31, had denied a charge of sexual touching and was found not guilty by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court last Thursday.
The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, claimed that during a consultation in the prison on January 6, Mr Adegoke placed his hand on her upper thigh close to her groin.
She alleged that Mr Adegoke told her that he had been thinking about her all night.
Giving evidence, Mr Adegoke, said he had placed his hand on the woman’s knee but only while both were laughing and said she had shown no signs of distress.
He had been seeking treatment for a personal problem and said he told the woman he would show her the affected area.
He denied that dropping his trousers and pulling his underwear aside would have been a surprise.
