A CARER and father of five has been stripped of his driving licence after a domestic dispute led to a drink-drive charge.

Alex King, 35, of Water Vole Close, Stowmarket, pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

On July 24, King was found asleep at the wheel of his Alfa Romeo with twice the legal limit of alcohol in his body.

He had driven on to a grass verge in High Road, Great Finborough, after a dispute with his fiancee.

Police arrested King after a breathalyser reading showed 90 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

King was banned from driving for two years. He must also pay £450 in fines, costs and a victim surcharge.
