THIS devastated shell is all that survived of a car after it was set alight on its owner’s driveway on Sunday.
The woman who owns it was at home with her partner, in Curtis Road, Bury St Edmunds, when the arson took place.
A member of the public saw flames engulfing the blue Ford Fiesta at around 2am and called the emergency services.
One fire engine from Bury was sent to the scene, where crews found the torched car ‘well alight from the rear end’ and used breathing apparatus and one hosereel jet to extinguish it.
The police also attended to speak to the victim.
One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said that he had not been at home during the incident but that it had him ‘worried’.
Anyone with information should call Bury police station on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
