POLICE are warning the public to be vigilant following a spate of battery thefts across West Suffolk.
Since the start of April, 65 batteries have been stolen from vehicles and plant, and from fencing and bird scarers. Scrap batteries have also been taken.
Police are advising people to keep vehicles secure, to regularly check batteries used for fencing and bird scarers, and to take scrap batteries to scrap yards as soon as possible.
