Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday.
The alleged incident involved a 14-year-old girl being sexually assaulted by a man in the cemetery in Hospital Road between 5pm and 5.30pm.
A 38-year-old man from Bury has been arrested on suspicion of committing a sex offence in relation to this incident. He has been released on bail until September 30 pending further enquiries.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the cemetery or in the area at the time who may have seen someone acting suspiciously and, in particular, from anyone who saw a man pushing a bike.
Officers are also keen to hear from an elderly lady who asked the victim if she was okay shortly after the alleged incident as she may be able to help with their enquiries.
