Teenager in court over Bury St Edmunds hammer robbery

A NINETEEN year-old teenager has appeared in court accused of hitting a man over the head with a hammer and then robbing him of cash, in Bury St Edmunds,

Sam Delo, of Ipswich Street, appeared before town magistrates this morning, charged with robbing 43-year-old Terance Murray on Tuesday.

The court heard that Delo allegedly attacked Murray at a nature reserve near Oakes Close, in Bury at around 3pm, leaving him with a . He is alleged to have stolen £160 and a mobile phone from Mr Murray.

No pleas were entered at the hearing.

Magistrates remanded Delo in custody to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on February 21
