A CARER has pleaded guilty to ill treating or neglecting an elderly woman.

Sandra Spendley, 69, of Eastern Way, Bury St Edmunds, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday to ill treating or neglecting Emily Mendham, 97, between November 1, 2010 and April 1, 2011 while manager of a Culford care home. Spendley, who is on bail, is due to be sentenced in the week beginning June 25. Judge David Goodin ordered a pre-sentence report by the Probation Service.
