Forensics test knife

POLICE are carrying out tests on a knife found in a disused bin belonging to the Bury Free Press.

A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that a weapon has been recovered from an area in Kings Road, Bury St Edmunds. The weapon will be subject to a detailed forensic examination to see if it is linked to a crime.”

The stained knife was found in the wheelie bin by a BFP staff member and police are checking whether it is connected with an alleged attempted murder on New Year’s Day in nearby Gosnold Street. Four people have been charged with attempted murder.
