Family hopes for review
THE mother of the man convicted of the murder of Dawn Walker in 2005 says she is hoping to be given a date for a judicial review into the investigation shortly.
Margaret Nunn this week appealed for anyone with information which will help clear her son to come forward on the eve of the anniversary of the discovery of Dawn’s body in Fornham All Saints on February 4, 2005.
Kevin Nunn, Dawn’s boyfriend, was convicted and sentenced to a minimum of 22 years in jaill for the killing.
Mrs Nunn has been campaigning for access to forensic evidence which she believes will provide DNA proof to clear her son and since last April has been waiting for news of a date for the review.
She said this week: “I believe an innocent man is in prison and I am campaigning for justice for Kevin Nunn.”
Mrs Nunn said: “Seven years on we are saying that technology has moved forward and we believe there is valuable DNA information which will clear my son.”
Miss Walker’s body was found on a footpath by the River Lark in Fornham Park and a murder hunt was launched.
Nunn, now 51, has maintained his innocence since his conviction in 2006 and has twice appealed unsuccessfully.
