Break-in at Murco garage in Bury

POLICE are appealing for information after a break-in at a petrol station in Bury St Edmunds this morning in which a cash machine was damaged and its contents stolen.

At around 3:35am a white van drove onto the fore court of the Murco Garage, on Newmarket Road.

It is believed the van was attached to the front of the ATM and used to pull it off.

One of the van’s back doors was left at the scene.

Money from the cash machine was stolen and the van was driven away along Newmarket Road, in the direction of Glasswells.

Police have cordoned off the scene and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the van before or after the incident, or who has information about those involved to contact Bury CID immediately on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
