Attack with hammer in Bury St Edmunds

POLICE in Bury St Edmunds are tracking a suspect after an incident this afternoon in which a man is believed to have been attacked with a hammer.

The alleged victim, a man in his 40s, is currently being transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, after a suspected attack on a nature reserve near to Oakes Close, in Bury.

Police were called shortly after 3pm and are investigating reports that the victim, who lived nearby, also had property stolen from his home.
