Crews tackle two ‘deliberate’ fires in Needham Market

Firefighters battled to two fires in Needham Market last night believed to be started deliberately.

Crews from Needham Market and Stowmarket were mobilised to Stowmarket Road after receiving 14 calls to a large fire in the open.

Crews from Needham Market arrived at the scene at 3.02am to find a wheelie bin on fire.

They requested the Stowmarket firefighters be redirected to attend a car fire at the bottom of Ludbrook Close, just off Stowmarket Road.

The two fires were brought under control by 3.21am.

Both fires are believed to have been started deliberately. Police have been informed.
