Crews not needed for Buttermarket ‘blaze’

TWO fire crews were left twiddling their thumbs earlier after being called to an incident in a town centre.

The crews, from Bury St Edmunds, were called to the town’s Buttermarket just before 2pm to reports of a building fire.

Shoppers looked on while the crews were stood down as the small fire had been put out before they arrived.

The crews were back at station by 2.10pm.
