Councillors have called in Suffolk County Council’s cabinet decision to back the Vision 2031 framework.
Cllrs Mark Ereira-Guyer, Trevor Beckwith, David Nettleton, Andrew Stringer and Bill Mountford have called for the matter to be looked at by the scrutiny committee
It follows their concerns that the decision was taken ‘despite insufficient information and evidence about appropriate transport measures to mitigate the severe negative impact to the road network in Bury’.
They want ‘detailed traffic mitigation proposals linked to a comprehensive Sustainable Transport Plan’.
Leading Conservative councillors agreed the framework for growth including plans for 5,900 homes was ‘sound’ during a meeting in Bury on Tuesday.
