A COUNCIL has kept its status as a top trainer after being given an award for the second time.
Breckland Council has scooped a gold standard Charter Plus Award for Elected Member Development, one of 14 handed out nationwide.
The award recognises the council’s commitment to councillors’ learning and development needs over the last 18 months.
Cllr Trevor Carter, chairman of Breckland’s member development panel, said the council would work to keep standards up.
“Successfully maintaining Charter Plus status recognises Breckland Council’s ongoing commitment to member development across all political parties in order to promote and enhance member performance in increasingly difficult financial times,” he said.
Mark Palmer, development director fo South East Employers, said: “Breckland Council continues to demonstrate innovation and leadership commitment in respect of member development.”
Breckland is one of two councils in Norfolk to be given the status.
