A Bury St Edmunds resident is continuing to call for car park charges at Nowton Park to be dropped following a sharp drop in visitor numbers.
Nigel Gossett submitted a Freedom of Information request which revealed visitor numbers at the park have fallen by 70 people per day since 2012, when the fees were introduced.
Mr Gossett wrote to St Edmundsbury Borough Council formally requesting the charges be dropped and the matter reviewed by the council.
He said: “Nowton Park is a country park and should be kept as such.”
A council spokesman said: “Given that the charges were backed by a public consultation in order to help fund improvements to Nowton Park, there are no plans to review them at the current time.”
