Bury St Edmunds Quakers have contributed to and sponsored the display of a large quilt at St Edmundsbury Cathedral which raises awareness of the victims of Drone attacks.

The 13 metre long and two metre high quilt is billed as a ‘visual petition for peace’ with panels bearing the names and ages of victims killed or maimed by weapons launched from the unmanned aircraft.

Bury Friends stitched 30 panels and were among many groups and organisations who contributed to the quilt, which was initiated in 2010 by the Fellowship of Reconciliation. The quilt, which is touring the UK, will be on display in the cathedral cloisters from June 9 to 20. Chris Cole, of Drone Wars UK, which has links with the Fellowship, will speak in the cathedral lecture room on June 11 at 7.30pm.
