STAR comedian Tim Minchin, pictured, sold out The Apex in just 45 minutes.
The Aussie joker, who is playing the last night of the Bury Festival on May 27, had people queuing out of the doors trying to get their hands on a ticket.
Phones were ringing off the hook at The Apex booking office as soon as the tickets went on sale on Monday.
Festival manager Nick Wells said Tim’s booking was great for the festival.
He said: “It was amazing.
“We knew it was going to be popular and that it would sell out quickly and sure enough that is what happened.
“We had queues going out of the door and the phones were absolutely red hot.
“We had to get as many people as we could selling the tickets, there were so many people that wanted them.
“It would be nice if we could have booked him for a run of five nights.
“It is great that the Fat Cat Comedy Club have got involved with the festival.
“The sell out night is fantastic for them and fantastic for the Bury Festival. It was a bit hectic on Monday but it was absolutely brilliant that the tickets sold so quickly.”
