Comedian Joe Pasquale and ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell have raised £18,750 for drinks and drugs rehabilitation charity Focus 12 in Bury St Edmunds.

The duo appeared on a ‘I’m a Celebrity’ special edition of ‘Who Wants to be A Millionaire’ on Friday night and won £75,000 of which a quarter is going to Focus12.

Joe decided to raise money for the charity after meeting founder Chip Somers at another event.

He admitted to being nervous before the show, which was being recorded live.

“ I need to make sure I don’t swear if we lose the money’, he said.

Chip said: “He has just become a friend of the charity.

“When any celebrity puts their head above the parpet to say they support a drink and drugs rehabilitation charity, we are extremely grateful.

“It can be counter productive to them and it is really good that we have people that are prepared to stand up for us.”
