A CRICKET coach is preparing for a trip to Rwanda where he will use the sport to promote HIV/Aids awareness.
Martin Eeles, of Bury St Edmunds, is one of seven coaches from across the UK handpicked to take part in the Cricket Without Boundaries project.
He is paying for flight costs and food for the two-week trip in March but is appealing for donations towards the cricket equipment, the running costs of the charity and basic accommodation.
The part-time PE teacher plays for Woolpit Cricket Club and is a level three England and Wales Cricket Board coach.
During the trip, he will train young people as level one International Cricket Council coaches.
Mr Eeles said: “Sometimes a different voice, in a different way can make a big difference.
“I’m really excited, it’s going to be a real eye-opener. This promises to be the trip of a life time.” Donations can be sent to Mr Eeles at 127 York Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3EE.
