A Pakenham bowls club will sell the last of its equipment this weekend after a lack of members forced it to close after 70 years.
The club was established in 1939 and originally competed in the grounds of Pakenheam Lodge.
In 1973 the club celebrated the opening of its new green created by members from six allotments.
The club’s membership had allowed it to compete in three leagues.
However recently membership has fallen and it has been unable to ensure that enough players will be available for each match.
The last of the club’s bowls and gardening equipment will be put up for sale on Sunday at Pakenheam Recreation Ground between 10am and 1pm.
