SCHOOLCHILDREN from Tuddenham Primary School designed fashionable reflective outfits while learning about road safety.

About 30 Year 3 students had a talk on road safety from PCSO Dawn Rowan before competing to design outfits that were both safe and fashionable.

The competition was won by eight-year-old Jade Scott.

PCSO Rowan said that Jade’s winning design incorporated ‘just about every piece of kit you can wear on your body’.

She said: “I’m hoping that this lesson will teach the children how important road safety is and keep them visible as they walk to school.”

Year 3 teacher Monica Clarke said: “They very much enjoyed it and came up with lots of good ideas.”

Jade won a set of bicycle lights provided by Suffolk Police’s community safety department.
