SERGEANT Neil Paterson is used to hitting the streets on police beat – but this weekend he is hitting the waves for a charity swim.

The Stowmarket Safer Neighbourhood Team sergeant will be taking part in an open water swim on Saturday to raise money for a charity which is very close to his heart.

Inspired by his 15-year-old daughter Bethany, who suffers from epilepsy, Neil and a group of friends from Moreton Hall Health Club will be swimming two miles at Alton Water Reservoir in aid of the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE).

Neil is keep to support the NSE, which he describes as a ‘worthy organisation’ after it helped the family to understand Bethany’s condition. Make a donation at www.justgiving.com/Neil-Paterson178
