The father of a brave tenager who died from cancer is organising his second music night in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sophie Gardner was 14 when she died after a three year battle with osteosarcoma in 2005.

Since then her family have raised money in her name to support a special unit for teens at Addenbrooke’s Hospital where Sophie was treated.

Her father, Steve Gardner said: “There wasn’t this facility for teenagers when Sophie was being treated and doing this is something constructive and also enables me to play music with old friends”

The Teenage Cancer Trust Live Music Night is on May 4 at the Bury St Edmunds Sugar Beet Sports and Social Club.

Guesting are popular Essex band, Legend, with support from Angus, made up from local musicians. The first live music night raised £1,500 for the charity.

Tickets are £6 in advance from Balaam’s Music in Abbeygate Street, £7 on the door.
