AN ICKLINGHAM pub has found that good things certainly do come to those who wait.

The Plough’s rainy summer fun day in August was, in the word’s of manager Carlton Read, ‘a bit of a washout’.

But rather than give up, the pub kept unused prizes and raffled them off over Christmas.

The ticket sales brought in an £1,100 haul, which was donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Mr Read thanked Alison Horsley for her help in organising the initial fun day and said he was delighted give to a good cause.

“It worked out well in the end –we are still collecting because it’s one of those charities that really needs help,” he said.
