POLICE are warning shop assistants in Stowmarket to be ‘extra vigilant’ when being asked for change following an incident this week.
A man entered a shop, in Combs Lane, on Monday at about 2pm, with two other men, asked to change some money and confused the cashier into giving away too much.
Officers are linking it to a similar incident at a shop in Creeting St Mary at about 1.45pm on Monday.
Two men purchased a carton of milk and tried to confuse the cashier when the till was open.
When this failed one of the men distracted the cashier while the other took cash from the open till.
Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Suffolk Police on 101.
