THE Meeting Point community café is having a month-long birthday celebration to mark its first year.
The weekly café in Great Barton was a year old on Wednesday, but will offer birthday cake from 9am to 2pm next Wednesday and have celebrations each week for the rest of the month to give all regulars and volunteers a chance to take part.
Held in the Church Institute of the Church of the Holy Innocents, it is open to all. Steering committee member Sarah Geileskey said: “In many village places you have to be a member of a particular group but everyone can come here, you don’t have to be a mum or a pensioner.”
Tea and coffee are free, but a menu of low cost sandwiches and light meals helps meet costs.
