Jobs could be created at a Rougham based firm following a deal announced by the Denny Bros Group in Bury St Edmunds this week.
Denny Bros has bought Harlow based Ditac, a specialist label company, for an undisclosed sum.
Although Ditac will maintain its presence in Harlow much of its production will be transferred to another one of the Denny Bros companies, Willowbridge Labels in Rougham.
A company statement from Denny Bros said that Ditac, formed in 1984 by Richard Blackwell has an excellent reputation for supplying specialist labels and systems to a wide range of customers nationally. The ‘well-respected’ Ditac name will be retained.
Mr Blackwell will carry on for an agreed period while the transfer of production to Willowbridge under the control of managing director Karl Seeley, takes place – Mr Blackwell will then take retirement.
The statement said there will be no job losses, and that ‘hopefully’ it will lead to the creation of jobs at Willowbridge as their operation expands.
Willowbridge Labels was purchased by Denny Bros Group in 2005, and has benefited from investment in new premises and new equipment including a SpeedStar digital label press and AMS label system.
