EXPERTS from the packaging industry met in Bury St Edmunds last week to examine exciting, new and interactive ways of packaging and promoting brands using the latest technology.
The Denny Bros open day at its Kempson Way business focused on the future of packaging, brand visibility and futuristic concepts for the industry.
Chris Penfold, of Design Cognition, and Chris Sherrard, of LILITH, looked at how companies can meet consumer needs in an increasingly web-enabled world and how to secure brand loyalty through smarter and more strategic marketing.
Mr Penfold spoke about how real world and virtual world ideas would merge with the widespread use of telephone aps with packaging and the development of moving pictures on packaging.
Mr Sherrard spoke about the needs to be alert to the ever-changing landscape of marketing and to change campaigns to meet customers’ needs.
Stephen Jarrold, marketing director at Denny Bros, parent company of specialist labelling company Fix-a-Form, said the event was important in enabling the industry to look to the future and operate in a more innovative way.
