Distinguished businesswoman and the World’s first professor of networking, Prof Julia Hobsbawm will be guest speaker at a West Suffolk College business breakfast at 8am next Friday (19) at the West Wing.

She was voted Media Woman of the Year 2012, is an inspirational writer and teacher, and founded

the ‘knowledge networking’ business Editorial Intelligence, described by the FT as ‘intellectual Viagra’.

In June 2012 she was invited by 10 Downing Street to be one of three women entrepreneurs accompanying the Prime Minister to the Northern Future Forum in Stockholm.

Barbara Beaton, Head of School of Higher Education and Learner Services at West Suffolk College, said: “Professor Hobsbawm has a very interesting and somewhat different background to the traditional visiting Professor.

“What she will bring to UCS Bury in terms of business networking will be incredibly valuable.”
