A ‘WELCOMING’ business on Moreton Hall is celebrating its first year of success.
The Coffee House, in Lawson’s Place, offers its customers coffee, cakes and other home-made treats seven days a week – and even has an outdoor seating area for those warmer summer months.
It is owned by Lucy Newell and Jessica Darnell.
Sophie Doel, 29, was the first customer to walk through its doors 12 months ago and has returned on a weekly basis ever since.
She said: “I think it’s a very warm, friendly place to stop. It’s a different sort of coffee house experience, more homely and welcoming, and it’s a good meeting point for people. The girls there are great, they support local businesses and the food tastes great, too – the bacon rolls are to die for.”
The Coffee House, which sells honey from the local prep school and meat sourced from Needham Market, is always looking for new local products.
It was presented with the judges’ award for overall effort after raising more than £2,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Accumulator Challenge.
Lucy said: “We’re getting really busy, with people from local offices, passers-by, mums and children – we just want to say thank you so much to them. It’s been a brilliant first year and we just want it to keep going.”
