A catering company will donate 25p to charity from the sale of each scone at Ickworth’s West Wing Restaurant.
As part of its global Stop Hunger campaign, Sodexo Prestige aims to raise £2,500 in a year from the initiative.
Annie Wreathall has been making scones at the West Wing for eight years as head baker and during that time the restaurant has sold more than 10,000 scones a year.
She said: “I make thousands of scones here at the West Wing restaurant at Ickworth - in fact they are the most popular item on the menu so knowing that the Stop Hunger campaign is benefitting everytime a scone is sold is fantastic. It is a wonderful campaign to support.”
Sodexo, which also manages catering and hospitality at The Apex, Athenaeum and Abbey Gardens, in Bury St Edmunds, developed the West Wing in 2005 with The National Trust.
