A pub has re-released a popular ale to celebrate the anniversay of St Edmunds Day this Wednesday.

The Old Cannon Brewery, in Bury St Edmunds, reinstated St Edmunds Head behind the bar in time for the special date.

St Edmunds Head is a dark, strong and malty ale with notes of citrus and caramel.

The Old Cannon Brewery, in Cannon Street, was once known as the St Edmunds Head.

Before the anniversary, landlady Hannah Clark said: “This ale will be a welcome readdition to the bar for our loyal customers.” She added that the ale is a ‘nod to all of the patrons’ who have visited the pub over the years.
