NetXtra and mi will join forces at NetXtra’s offices and all existing mi staff will work within NetXtra bringing the total number of staff to 30.

Simon Palmer, chief executive of NetXtra, said: “There are many synergies between NetXtra and mi in terms of our work ethic and values.

“Together we are much stronger.

“This new venture will enhance the experience we provide to existing clients but it will also offer new clients a dynamic digital agency with extensive collective experience all under one roof.”

The acquisition of mi is the first in a number planned by NetXtra in the near future.

Mr Palmer said: “This lays the foundations for further growth and demonstrates NetXtra’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of digital communications.”

mi managing director Rob Masson will remain responsible for mi’s development.

He said: “This is a great opportunity for both businesses to provide additional strength and depth of knowledge.

“It will be exciting for our talented team of developers and project managers to be part of the larger group enabling us to operate across a much wider spectrum of business.”

Both companies have been delivering web solutions to a range of clients for about 20 years.

NetXtra develops sophisticated web solutions primarily for the membership, charity and not-for-profit sectors while mi has focused on ecommerce solutions using open source platforms including WordPress and Magento.
