New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership is launching two skills summits in Ipswich and Norwich next month.
These will bring together businesses and the publilc sector to shape strategy to ensure people are fully equiped for the world of work and possess the skills that business demands.
Andy Wood, New Anglia LEP chairman, said: “I want to ensure a razor sharp focus on skills bringing together business, education, sector specialists and policymakers to help deliver an ambitious, deliverable, action plan. This will secure the future success of the New Anglia economy in the global marketplace for generations to come.
“There is some great work going on around skills but we want to take this forward in a much more positive cohesive way. We want to see vocational skills developed and valued by employers, expand apprenticeships, create the right conditions for entrepreneurs and provide first class career advice.”
The skills summits will be held on September 16 at University Campus Suffolk and September 23 at Norwich City Football Club. These will run between 6pm and 9pm. To register go to www,newangliabooking.co.uk
