PLANS for the final phase of the Cedars Park development, in Stowmarket, have been put forward by developers, with a scheme for community and sport facilities.
Residents have been campaigning for community facilities and now the plans by Crest Nicholson are addressing the gap.
The plans submitted to Mid Suffolk District Council are for 209 one, two, three and four-bedroom houses and flats as well as three commercial units in the village centre, a community hall and changing room and football pitch.
There is also provision for public open space, new access to Cedars Park Primary School and improvements to the existing balancing pond.
The developers are funding the community facilities with Bellway homes and Crest Nicholson both donating £500,000 each to the communal facilities.
The submission of the plann follows talks between the council, Crest Nicholson, which submitted the plans on behalf of the developers, and residents on the estate.
Cllr Peter Woodley, who represents the area, said: “It has taken a lot of work getting this application sorted. It really demonstrates what can be achieved when people work together.”
