A coffee morning attended by mayor Julie Wakelam celebrated Bury St Edmunds’ Fairtrade Partnership for renewing their Fairtrade Town status.

Having Fairtrade Town status will continue to be a positive benefit to the town with many residents and visitors looking to buy Fairtrade goods.

Partnership secretary Penny Bentley said: “This is fantastic news and reflects the great support there is for Fair Trade throughout the town.

“We are proud that Bury St Edmunds is part of this global movement that works to secure a better deal for famers and workers. We would like to thank the town council and all the businesses, organisations and individuals who have supported our renewal.”
