Eight members of staff with a Suffolk producer of spice and herb flavours have clocked up more than 100 years’ service.
The employees with Kalsec UK, based at Merlin Park, in Fred Dannatt Road, Mildenhall, have just celebrated a combined service of 109 years.

Managing director James Smith, who joined the company less than a year ago, said he is extremely keen to recognise the contribution of team members.
He said: “While the 109 years clocked up by eight employees don’t make for the usual round numbers no one is worried about that.
“The key thing is to thank people who have played a big part in building up this business.
He added: “These eight team members have each served at least 10 years, helping to produce, adapt, package and supply natural ingredients to food manufacturers across the country.
“The industry has benefitted from natural, sustainable flavours and colours from the very best herbs and spices partially as a result of their efforts.
Mr Smith said: “Kalsec helps ensure that much of the food on Britain’s supermarket shelves and in the country’s cafes, pubs and restaurants contains natural, flavoursome ingredients.
“There should be – and now is – recognition of the committed employees at the heart of our operations.”
The recipients enjoyed a celebration meal at Tuddenham Mill and were each presented with a certificate.
Having caught up with all those who have served for more than 10 years, the plan is now to celebrate service at five yearly intervals.
The long service roll call is made up of:
Becky Heaps, customer services and sales administrator; Wim van Kessel, European sales director and Ian Marrington, operations director, who have each been with the company 16 years.
In addition, Ghislaine Cowell, production application manager, has completed 15 years while Colin Parsfield, senior operations assistant; Brian Harvey, technical manager and Selina Butcher, customer services advisor have all completed 12 years’ service. Alastair Anderson, customer services advisor has clocked up 10 years.
