BURY St Edmunds business Clean Plumber Ltd is doing its best to dispel the notion that workmen means mess.
Started by couple Sally and Jason Lane in 2008 after they moved from Australia, the plumbing specialists have secured a foothold in the area and are now looking further afield.
“When we moved here we found we could bring something in terms of quality of service.
“Our approach is to try to leave people’s properties in at least as good a state as we find them – not in a mess. It’s an emphasis on looking after people’s homes when we do a job,” said Sally.
The approach appears to be paying off. The business has grown impressively since it began and Sally says it is now looking to expand.
“Eventually we’d like to franchise what we have, starting with getting a premises in Cambridge,” she said.
Since starting with just Sally and Jason, the firm now has four full-time employees, with plumbers Mark Miller and Craig Durrant joining the team.
The importance of the Local Business Accelerators was not lost on Sally.
“We get a lot of nice customer recognition but to be recognised by business leaders is fantastic,” she said.
