THE Chilli Company in Mendlesham is hoping to attract people who were previously ‘put off’ by the chilli theme, after teaming up with an award-winning deli.

Michelle Barker and Graham Steele, who run award-winning Earsham Street Deli, in Bungay, have taken over the management of the farm’s deli and cafe.

Denise Nuttall, who runs the chilli farm with husband Adrian, said: “The range of fine cheeses, olives, continental meats, locally made tarts, pies and cakes is superb and a great addition to the farm.”

Adrian said: “We’re hoping it will attract new customers to the farm who may previously have been put off by the theme of chillies.”

The deli produce is also available in an English café, which is upstairs in a thatched barn and which overlooks the Suffolk countryside.

“The menu has been inspired by the produce from the deli, which means customers can take home things they’ve enjoyed,” said Michelle.

The farm has also added a smokehouse where Adrian smokes duck, chicken, pork and cheeses including stilton, goats chesse and smoking chilli cheddar.

They are being sold through a new Smoke and Spice shop at the farm.
