A SUPPORT worker for a Tostock based business which helps adults and children who have had brain injuries, has narrowly missed out on an award.
Sharon Dixon who works with Anglia Case Management, was a finalist in the Great British Home Care Awards. She qualified after winning the East of England Home Carer of the Year award and was highly commended by judges in the national finals.
Anglia Case Management employs more than 120 support workers and has more than 100 clients.
Its care coordinator Linda Marsden, said: “This is great recognition for Sharon, who is a hard working and dedicated carer.”
Sharon, who has been caring for children with disabilities for more than 25 years, was nominated for the award by her firm.
“It is a great honour,” she said after finishing in the final seven at the national awards held at The Royal Courts of Justice in London on May 14.
As part of the judges decision making, Sharon had to undergo two gruelling interviews about her role. The judges praised how she puts ‘fun into support.
“Sharon is passionate about her role and the difference she makes to the lives of others,” they added.
