Patrick Spurgeon has been appointed the new Bury store manager for East Anglian building supplies company Kent Blaxill.

A career highlight was building a new alter rail for the Queen’s private chapel after the Windsor Castle fire.

He said: “The job brings some new challenges for me and I will be looking to develop the business and to take the depot forward.

“There are a number of areas of the business I will be looking to build upon.

“In particular we are going to refurbish the glass area with a new display area and relaunch the DecXpress delivery van so we can offer a more flexible service to our decorating customers.”

The company’s Bury branch has 20 members of staff.
