Bridgebrooke Energy, which produces the successful Hotties heatlogs, has scooped a top accreditation for its carbon cutting actions.

The company, in Risby, scored gold in the Suffolk Carbon Charter for being an ‘exemplar in low carbon management’ and its community leadership.

The award, which includes bronze, silver and gold, is run by Suffolk County Council and the Environment Agency.

John Jardine, managing director of Bridgebrooke, said they were ‘very pleased’ to have received the top grade straight away. He added that they use all types of renewables to produce their products and have an anaerobic digester which generates green electricity.

Cllr Richard Smith, cabinet member for the environment, praised their ‘highly commendable environmental commitment’.
